SIGEP Sigep - The World Dolce Expo, organized by Italian Exhibition Group, whose 45th edition will be held January 20 - 24 at the Rimini convention centre, is fast approaching. The event, a reference point for the world of sweet foodservice, will showcase excellence in the artisanal industries of gelato, pastry, bakery, coffee and chocolate. The industries of Sigep will be represented in the fair’s 28 pavilions. The layout has been renewed, making it more functional for both buyers and professionals, with over 1,200 exhibiting brands occupying the exhibition centre’s 129 thousand square meters of space. Thanks to collaboration with the industries’ artisanal and industrial associations, and with the national and international associations of gelato chefs, pastry chefs, bakers, baristas and coffee specialists, Sigep 2024 will foster new business and networking opportunities, and will provide insight into international markets. The competitions At the Gelato Arena, the Gelato World Cup will be returning, as it is the most important competition in the world that includes trials in gelato, pastry, chocolate, restaurant dishes and ice sculptures. It involves twelve teams, each representing a different country. At the end of the competition, the winning team will be decreed, obtaining the title of Gelato World Champions 2024. With Sigep Gelato D’Oro, the best Italian gelato and pastry professionals will be awarded, and they will go on to compete at the second edition of the Gelato Europe Cup, scheduled for Sigep 2025. Among the competitions at the Pastry Arena, there is great anticipation for the Junior Pastry World Championship, JPWC, which highlights the talent of young people under the age of 23: there will be twelve teams competing with the theme “Myths and Legends”. The Italian Pastry Championships for Seniors and Juniors will be held with the respective themes: “Traveling Eastwards” and “A sustainable future”.
